The Electrical Network System: “definitive” project in progress

A contract for the preparation of the Definitive Electrical Network System Project was recently awarded to DBA Pro S.p.A.. The contract includes the "definitive" design of two important elements:

  • The main power supply of the 150kV DTT system from the NATIONAL HIGH VOLTAGE NETWORK and the related HV/MV 150/20KV Substation at the Frascati site.
  • The MV/LV distribution system.

The project will be completed in January 2024. Subsequently, based on the results achieved, a tender will be launched for an integrated executive engineering/execution contract.

DBA Progetti (https://www.dbagroup.it/ ) is an Italian company, well established in the procurement of engineering, project and construction management services in the civil, plant and infrastructure fields.

The connection to the national electricity grid (https://www.terna.it/it/media/comunicati-stampa/dettaglio/nuovo-collegamento-roma-est-enea-frascati) will take place via a high voltage line whose construction is entrusted to TERNA. The line consists of three new 150 kV power lines in completely underground cable for a total of approximately 40 km; the cable insulation is based on highly reliable, efficient and sustainable XLPE technology.
