After a public call launched by ENEA to all Italian regions to offer a site for the construction of DTT facility, nine excellent proposals were presented. The outcome of the selection was the ENEA site of Frascati, where the Frascati Tokamaks (FT and FTU) successfully operated. The Frascati site, located in the outskirt of Rome, is one of the largest research area in Europe, where the labs of ENEA and other research institutions, namely those of the European Space Agency, the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), the National Research Center (CNR), the National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF), and the campus of the University of Tor Vergata are located.
