DTT is equipped with a system of Non-Axisymmetric (NAS) In-Vessel Coils for the suppression of Edge Localised Modes and of error field control. The contract for the procurement of the Power Supply System for the 27 NAS coils has been awarded on 28 May 2024 to Equipaggiamenti Elettronici Industriali (EEI), located in Vicenza, Italy. The Kick-off Meeting on this activity was held on 4 June 2024. The procurement is financed by the PNRR grant awarded to ENEA for the DTT-Upgrade project.
Founded in 1978, EEI has a long experience in the field of power electronics, with a specific focus on fast coils for plasma correction. In particular, EEI recently procured the power supplies for the 18 Error Field Correction coils and 18 Resistive Wall Mode mitigation coils for the Japanese tokamak JT-60SA.
The delivery of the DTT NAS power supply system is expected by October 2025.
