Frascati, 7 February 2024: Minister Pichetto Fratin visits the ENEA Labs

On February 7, 2024, the Minister for Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, has visited the ENEA Frascati Research Center. In the introductory part he underlined the main themes of the collaboration with ENEA, with particular reference to those of energy security and to the collaborations with the national industrial world.

In a round table chaired by the President of ENEA Gilberto Dialuce, the ENEA activities in the energy sector were presented by Giorgio Graditi (General Director of ENEA), the activities in the nuclear area by Alessandro Dodaro (Director of ENEA Nuclear Department) and the DTT project by Francesco Romanelli (President of the DTT Consortium).

In particular, Romanelli illustrated the strategic importance of the DTT project in the European fusion research and its role in promoting technological transfer in support of the national industry. 

He put a particular emphasis on the strategic role of the DTT Consortium as a successful example of public-private partnership in fusion: “Only bringing together the scientific and technical knowledge of the research institutions and the pragmatic approach of industry it will be possible to deploy fusion on the shortest possible time scale”.
