Enrico di Pietro appointed Project Manager of the DTT

The Board of Directors has appointed Enrico di Pietro Project Manager of the DTT. His activity will start on January 1, 2024.

Enrico di Pietro, mechanical engineer, has dedicated his entire career to thermonuclear fusion in the various aspects of design, construction of new devices and technological research.

His activity began in 1985 in the ENEA Research Center, Frascati where he participated in the construction of the Frascati Tokamak Upgrade (FTU).

Then, appointed head of the Technology Division of the ENEA Fusion Department, he begins to deal with the new technologies required by next step of fusion devices.

Since 1996 he has been involved in ITER. Initially he contributes to the mechanical design of the NBI and, afterwards, he assumes the responsibility for the ITER site preparation.

Since 2008 he has been involved in the realization of the JT-60SA project, subsequently taking on the role of Deputy Project Manager and F4E JT-60SA Unit head.

With his appointment, Enrico di Pietro comes back to the ENEA site in Frascati where his activity in fusion research began, as a junior engineer, about 40 years ago

In commenting on the appointment, Francesco Romanelli, President of DTT, expressed his conviction that "... this appointment represents an important step forward in the consolidation of the company's organizational structure. …".
