Energy of the Future: DTT’s Pivotal Role in the Nuclear Fusion Challenge

“Energy of the Future. The Nuclear Fusion Challenge” is the debate that brings together leading experts to discuss how nuclear fusion can contribute to the energy transition and climate The event will be held on Friday, September 26, from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM, at Area Talk 1 during Trieste Next.

Speakers include Stefano Batticci (Engineering Department Manager, Westinghouse Mangiarotti), Gianfranco Federici (CEO of EUROfusion), and Gustavo Granucci, Head of Plasma Heating Systems for DTT, who will present the state-of-the-art of the research in Italy and underline the strategic role of the Tokamak Test for Divertor (DTT) in the international scenario. The session will be moderated by science journalist Simona Regina.

The discussion will cover paths for integrating fusion into Europe’s future energy mix: from the European fusion roadmap to industrial implications, including the contribution of companies from Friuli-Venezia Giulia to the ITER project.

DTT is committed to fostering collaboration among academia, applied research and industry, contributing its technological expertise to meet the challenges that nuclear fusion poses for achieving clean, safe, and sustainable energy. Entry is free, but reservation is recommended .
