DTT in the spotlight at ENEA’s event at Expo 2025 Osaka: a scale model at Italy Pavilion

DTT (Divertor Tokamak Test) will take centre stage at an event organised by ENEA, in collaboration with the Italian Commissioner’s Office, as part of Expo 2025 Osaka, under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”. The event will be held on 24 September 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00, at the Auditorium of the Italy Pavilion in Osaka. Gian Mario Polli, DTT’s Chief Engineer and Head of the Tokamak area will participate at the conference on behalf of DTT. He will present the project and its progress during the panel "Nuclear fusion as a source of sustainable energy."

The focus will be on the transformations needed to build a sustainable, flexible and secure energy system, aligned with European and international decarbonization targets for 2030 and 2050. Key drivers of the energy transition will be explored: developments in nuclear fusion and new fission technologies, hydrogen as an energy carrier, and the use of digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and the Internet of Things for advanced and smart system management.

Within the Italy Pavilion, ENEA will exhibit a scale model of DTT, the experimental nuclear fusion facility which will be built in Frascati, Italy — a symbol of Italian technological innovation in clean energy.
