DTT High-Voltage Power Supplies for Gyrotrons Tender Published

DTT has launched a new call for tender for the High-Voltage Power Supplies (HVPS) for gyrotrons.

As the contract for the procurement of gyrotrons is advancing with the foreseen delivery of two units at DTT site before the end of year, the procurement of the related main power supply represents the necessary following step to realize the ECRH system of DTT, the largest in the world after ITER.

Gyrotrons of MW class are the generator of the power that will be used in DTT to heat electrons and to assure plasma stability and are at the cutting-edge technology in the field of plasma heating for nuclear fusion reactors. These electronic tubes require several dedicated power supplies for operation, including:

  • Main Power Supplies for the cathode-collector circuit;
  • Body Power Supplies for the body-collector circuit;
  • Filament Heater Power Supplies;
  • Low-voltage auxiliary power supplies.

Scope of the procurement includes 8 HVPS sets to feed the first 16 gyrotrons that will operate on DTT from the first phase of plasma operation.

The tender comprises:

  • 8 Main Power Supplies;
  • 16 Body Power Supplies;
  • 16 Filament Heater Power Supplies;
  • Related Medium-Voltage switchgear.

The procurement duration is 68 months from the start of contractual activities, as consequence of the contract award.

The total estimated value of the procurement is €24,056,194.00.
