Today 22 July 2024, a new call for tender for the construction of the DTT Vacuum Vessel and related accessory has been published.
The Vacuum Vessel acts as primary confinement barrier for radioactivity, and provides support for in-vessel components, including the First Wall, the Divertor and the In-vessel Coils, instrumentation.
The main figures of the Vessel are: outer diameter 7 m, inner diameter 2.5 m, high 3.9 m, interior volume 75 m3, weight 140 tons.
The Contractor is asked to supply and delivery to DTT the items that can be summarized, but not limited to, in:
- 1 prototype sector;
- 3 Multisectors;
- 82 ports including bellows;
- 6 gravity supports;
- 2 sets of splice assemblies;
- Vacuum vessel instrumentation;
- The technical and quality documentation related to the manufactured items and the production process relevant aspects.
The publication of the tender constitutes a major milestone for the DTT project since the DTT VacuumVessel constitutes the core of the machine without which the assembly cannot begin.
