On July 8 a workshop to discuss the preparation of the DTT Research Plan has taken place under the initiative of ENEA and CEA at the ENEA Research Center. The meeting was open to the participation of all EUROfusion laboratories. Totally more than 150 researchers and scientists participated in the event. About 100 participants from all Europe connected from remote to give their contribution.
The meeting was opened by Volker Naulin, Head of the EUROfusion Fusion Science Department, who underlined the need of an approach to the heat exhaust challenge that integrates core and edge physics. Details of the workshop materials can be found here. Francesco Romanelli, President of the DTT Consortium, said “The success of DTT is strictly related to the capability of exploiting intellectual diversity and  elaborating the best scientific proposals to aim at achieving excellence”.
The next step will be a call for interest to all EUROfusion laboratories to nominate the participants in the Expert Groups that will draft the Research Plan. The goal is to have a document ready in time to provide the DTT input to the Facility Review scheduled by EUROfusion in 2023.
