DTT at the ISFNT XV Conference in Las Palmas

The 15th edition of International Symposium on Fusion Nuclear Technology (ISFNT-15) was held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, from 10-15 September 2023. The event has been organized by CIEMAT, in collaboration with other institutions, and supported by several sponsors and institutions.

The ISFNT is one of the main international events for the nuclear fusion field and offers an outstanding opportunity for the fusion community to meet, discuss new ways to address complex problems, and find advanced solutions in nuclear fusion technologies.

With a plenary lecture, three oral presentations and several posters, the DTT community provided the international scientific community with a detailed illustration of the state of the art of the design and construction of the DTT facility.

The Italian participation was highly appreciated. In particular, with reference to the plenary lecture, the Conference Coordinators declared: “We're pleased to have had the privilege of listening to Gian Mario Polli, who delivered a remarkable presentation about the role of the DTT facility for the development of high flux tokamak components”.

Two young PhD Student, collaborators of the DTT, Sara Buonocore and Andrea Zoppoli of CREATE, a member of the DTT Consortium, won the prize reserved for the "best student paper" with the poster presentation "An obstacle avoidance path planning algorithm to simulate hyper redundant manipulators for tokamaks maintenance"
